  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup hot water
  • 200 grams dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • Chocolate shavings or cocoa powder, for garnish

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and line an 8-inch round cake pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together condensed milk, powdered sugar, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until smooth and well incorporated.
  5. Stir in the hot water gradually until the batter is smooth.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. While the cake is cooling, prepare the chocolate truffle ganache. Place the chopped dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl.
  9. In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it starts to simmer. Pour the hot cream over the chopped chocolate and let it sit for 1-2 minutes.
  10. Stir the chocolate and cream together until smooth and glossy. Let the ganache cool for a few minutes until it thickens slightly.
  11. Once the cake has cooled completely, pour the chocolate ganache over the top of the cake, allowing it to drip down the sides.
  12. Garnish the cake with chocolate shavings or dust with cocoa powder.
